Planing and moulding.-A guard for woodmoulding machines consists of a plate, with guide rollers attached, which is vertically adjustable and can be swung out of the way when desired. The plate A is carried by rods F adjustable in clamps G on the ends of the shaft H, which turns in the end of the arm J. The arm J is mounted to swing and move longitudinally on the pillar K. The plate A carries rollers C, which are caused to press against the material D by means . of a spring L, which is clamped by a screw N to the shaft H when the guard is in use, the movement being limited by a stop P. Axially adjustable rollers Q, Q<1>, mounted on spring-pressed arms R, R<1>, act on the top of the material. A handle E is provided to operate the guard to stop the cut &c.
