11,186. Golland, H. S. May 23. Winding-machines.-Relates to traverse and tension mechanism for producing a cross-wind in cone winding-machines. The yarn guide-levers g<2> are loosely pivoted on a shaft f, and are oscillated by an eccentric o working in a frame g' in one of the levers, so that the yarn guides h on the ends of the levers are traversed adjacent to and approximately parallel to the cone d on the spindle a. The eccentrics for a row of spindles are set at varying angles to reduce vibration. The yarn is passed over a fixed tension bar s and under the yarn guide h on its way to the spindle to equalize the strain on the yarn due to the rapid crosswinding.
