Abstract
9358. Martini, C. April 30. Direct gas - pressure apparatus. - Measured quantities of liquids, such as petrol, are delivered into tanks m from a series of vessels i of known capacity arranged in a tank a, which is alternately opened to gas and liquid supply. Liquid flows in through the pipe d and fills the vessels i, and ingress of air is stopped by the water seal f at the end of a rising pipe e. The gas-pressure supply pipe g opens into the pipe e, a three-way cock h serving to close the pipe g when the tank a is being fitted, and to open it when the vessels are to be emptied. When the tank is full, the gas pressure forces the liquid out of the vessels i through the pipes k to the tanks m.
