Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic.-In tyres consisting of transversely - perforated resilient elements 15, the holes 16 are arranged in rows and are elongated radially in sections. The flat treads of the elements are formed with oblique or longitudinal grooves or with recesses to prevent slipping. The ends of the sections are cut at an angle to the radial direction X-X, as shown in Fig. 1, and are covered with rubber solution so that when they are placed on the wheel they tend to adhere together. The elements, which have bases of hard rubber, are vulcanized to metal plates 21 of undulated cross-section, which are provided with rows of holes some of which 24 are countersunk, the rubber of the elements penetrating into the holes and covering the edges of the plates. The plates 21 are secured to an ordinary flanged metal rim, with rubber between their edges and the flanges of the rim, by radial bolts 30, the heads 33 of which are fixed to the plates.
