Abstract
4415. Helps, G. Feb. 27. Incandescent gas lamps. - The inverted burner tube is surrounded by a casing having its sides greater than its ends and provided with air inlets at its ends and baffles for preventing the direct passage of air to the burner tube. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the mixing- chamber is enclosed in a rectangular casing b, provided with preferably perforated baffles hand preferably arranged in a cylindrical casing, so that the combustion products pass through the spaces at the sides of the casing and air is admitted at its ends. According to the Provisional Specification, the burner tube is surrounded by a series of casings or baffles.
