Abstract
4033. Shovelton, P. Feb. 22. No Patent granted (Sealingfee not paid). Lift valves; seats. -A self - closing lift valve is actuated by fluid pressure acting on a piston F to which a flexible valve washer G<1> is secured by a screw I, which also acts as a stop. The fluid pressure is admitted through a hole f in the piston from a chamber which is in communication with the inlet D. To open the valve, the chamber D<1> is put in communication with the outlet by means of a lift valve M, operated, against the fluid pressure and a spring P, by a push L on the spindle N, which is packed with a rubber washer O. The removable seating G is provided with a vertical perforated flange H which may be fitted with gauze strainers. [Reference has been directed under Section 7 of Patents &c.
