Abstract

3010. Haddan, H. J., [Warren, W. R.]. Feb. 10. Rotary cement &c. kilns.-A rotary kiln b, particularly adapted for the production of cement from blast-furnace slag, is mounted upon a tilting support d so that the charge, which is introduced at the firing end m, may be withdrawn from the same end while the gases escape from the other end to the stack j. The end i of the kiln is tapered as shown, and the charging end m is provided with a removable cover having a central hole through which projects the end of a hinged fuel pipe n. When the kiln is charged, the support d is adjusted about its axis c by means of screws g so that the material does not rise above the lowest point of the opening i. The kiln may be mounted on a platform s having wheels t.
