Abstract
20,256. Smith, W. Sept. 11. Guards, mud.-For securing a splasher to a mud-guard, a bottom clip is so constructed and fitted to the splasher as to provide a bifurcation, preferably resilient, into and within which the lower end of the guard is introduced and gripped. As shown in Fig. 3, the bifurcation is formed by the cranking back at a<4> of a tongue-piece a<3>, which is pierced out from a plate a<2> secured to the splasher e on the inner side by an outside washer and a twolegged pin f. In lieu of providing the tongue-piece upon the plate, the splasher may be secured closely to the plate so that the splasher and the upper part of the plate form the bifurcation for the reception of the mud-guard.
