RIGID WALLET FOR CYCLES AND THE LIKE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERTO IVIARGUE- RETTAZ, a subject of the King of Italy, residing at Aosta, Italy, have invented a certain new and useful Rigid allet for Cycles and the Like, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a walletfor cycles and the like, the characteristic feature of which is that it is rigid, at least in the longitudinal direction, for the purpose of enabling it to be secured to the frame by means of a stop and a spring button or catch.
Two constructions of the wallet according to this invention are illustrated by way of example in. the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 shows one construction in elevation, Fig. 2 being a crosssection of the same on line ma: of Fig. l, and Fig. 3 is a crosssection of another construction of the wallet with a rigid frame, and Fig. 4 shows another construction intended to be secured in the corner of the frame.
The wallet is constituted by a rigid body 1 made of sheet metal, open at the top and having for instance, the cross-section shown in Fig. 2, and by two conical ends 2, each of which is provided at the apex with a hole or recess. In order to secure the wallet to the frame, is used a fixed button 3 and a spring button 4 mounted on the frame by means of rings 5, in such manner that it is sufficient to force the point of the fixed button 3 into the hole made in the top of one of the ends of the wallet, and to introduce into the hole of the opposite end, the point of the spring button l. The said wallet, instead of being made of sheet metal, and consequently perfectly rigid, could also merely have a rigid frame constituted by the two covers or ends 2, and longitudinal ribs or rods 6 connecting the same, and covered with leather or some similar material, (Fig. 3).
In the construction shown in Fig. 4, the wallet has a trapezoidal shape in order to enable it to be fixed in the back angle of the frame. That shape could be modified, if desired, in order to secure the wallet in the front angle of the frame.
The wallet shown in Fig. 4 rests with two of its sides against the tubes of the frame and slightly surrounds them. On the top it is open in order to enable the tools to be put in or removed, and the closing is effected Serial No. 477,413.

The fitting on the frame can be'effected by means of a single spring button 4c the point of which engages with the recess made in the top of the end or cover 2 of the wallet. In that way the wallet is pushed against the upper frame tube and cannot shift, more particularly as one of its inclined sides slightly surrounds the corresponding frame tube.
A wallet of this construction, owing to the rigidity of the covers and walls, has the advantage that it can be fixed to the frame by means of a spring button and of a support at the opposite side, which can be constituted, in the case of a trapezoidal wallet, by the frame itself, which enables it to be removed and put back in place with the greatest facility. Finally, the position of the wallet adhering to the frame does away with the necessity of any closing device, while at the same time it prevents the wallet from swinging under the influence of the vibrations or shocks of the machine.
hat I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A device of the class described comprising in combination, a wallet adapted to be attached to parts of a cycle and the like, means for fastening said wallet to said parts, said parts being adapted to form a closing means of said wallet, after said wallet is fastened thereto.
2. A device of the class described, comprising in combination, a wallet adapted to be attached to parts of a cycle and the like, said wallet being provided with conical end portions, means coacting with said end portions for fastening said wallet to said parts, said parts being adapted to form a closing means of said wallet, after said wallet is fastened thereto.
3. A device of the class described, comprising in combination, a wallet adapted to be attached to parts of a cycle, said wallet being provided with conical end portions and with recesses in the apex of said end portions, means coacting with said recesses for fastening said wallet to said parts, said parts being adapted to form a closing means of said wallet, after said wallet is attached thereto.
