Abstract

13,365. Hansford, I. June 10. Perambulators. - Perambulators or baby carriages are constructed so as to fold both laterally and longitudinally. Two pairs of crossed wheelcarrying members A, E and B, F, pivoted at C and D are connected at their upper ends by longitudinal rods G, H and lateral metal rods Q, R, both pairs of which have butt joints only capable of opening upwards. The lower parts of the crossed rods are connected by metal cross-stays pivoted together at 0, P, their upper ends being pivoted to the cross-members by eyes or staples N. The hammock forming the carriage may be slung from the rods Q, R. To close the carriage, the rods G, H are raised, thus folding the cross-members, the pull on the cross-stays simultaneously drawing them together laterally.
