Feed-water, supplying; blow-off apparatus; scum apparatus.-The feed supplied through the pipe D, Fig. 1, induces a flow of water and steam through the skimmer cups G and branch pipes F into a chamber A, whence it passes into the main water space through the valves H, Fig. 3, and pipes I. The chamber A may be rotatably mounted on the pipe D. Connected to the lower part of the chamber A beneath a valve C are branch pipes J, which collect the sediment and deliver it through the chamber A into a pipe L when the blow-off cock K is opened. At the same time, scum passes into the pipe L from the cups G, which may be perforated and fitted with perforated covers.
