Abstract

Rectilinear-motion bearings.-In a bearing for a spirally guided gas-holder in which pairs or sets of guide rollers a are mounted on each side of the guide rail b, each pair or set being carried by a yoke a<1> mounted on a pivot c, roller axles a<2> on one side of the rail are directly connected to corresponding roller axles a<2> on the opposite side of the rail. The direct connection may be effected by rigid links e pivoted on the axles a<2>, or on the extreme parts of the yoke a' or extensions therefrom, or partly on the axles and partly on the yokes. Flexible members such as chains may be employed instead of rigid links. Specification 20568/11 [Class 54, Gas distribution], is referred to.
