29,471. Wilson, A. Dec. 27. Scrubbers and washers.-A gas-washer comprises one or more rotating paddle-wheels supplied with water-and through which the gas passes to and fro. Two such wheels 1, 2 are mounted one abwe the other in a casing 6. The gas entering at 18 is caused by baffle-plates 8, 9, 10, 13, &c to pass through the apparatus as shown. The water is delivered by a pipe 15, and, on being thrown off by means of the paddles, is caught by inclined plates 12 and again delivered to the wheel. Inclined plates 14 direct the water from one wheel to the next.
