Abstract
26,190. Johnson, J. Y., [Badische Anilin & Soda Fabrik]. Nov. 19. 3-Ketodihydro-1-thionaphthene-2-ketoxime, its homologues and derivatives are prepared by treating the corresponding thionaphthenes with nitrous acid. The products obtained are soluble in acetic acid, acetone, and some other solvents, and give phenylhydrazones when treated with phenylhydrazine. 2 : 3-Diketodihydro-1-thionaphthene, its homologues and derivatives are prepared from the corresponding 3 - ketodihydro. 1- thionaphthene-2 - ketoxime compounds, either by hydrolysis, or by reduction to an amino-compouud with iron filings and hydrochloric acid and subsequent oxidation with ferric chloride or other suitable oxidizing-agent. By the action of acetic anhydride on the compounds produced, yellow acetyl derivates are obtained, and by the action of phenylhydrazine, hydrazones are produced.
