12,169. Hauptmann, J. C. May 24. Steam generation by direct contact of combustion products.-In that class of generator in which a flame burns in the water, the mixed steam and gases are superheated by contact with a wall g surrounding the fuel vaporizer. Perforations in a coil e leading from the steam space direct the steam &c. on to the wall g. The fuel and air supplied through the pipe a pass upwards through a spiral groove b and then downwards through a central passage c into the water ; the mixture is ignited at z. -
