Abstract
2384. Entwisle & Kenyon, Kenyon, R. W., Kenyon, W. H., and Shorrock, J.L. Jan. 31. Mangling and wringing machines. - Relates to improvements in the class of folding-machines described in Specification No. 11,883, A.D. 1904. The back part of the table top M, which is used when the mangling rollers are inverted, slides in guides a so that it takes up an approximately vertical position at the back of the machine. The curved rack D has the teeth made smaller or eccentric at the extremities d', so that, if rotated when in an inverted position, this wheel slips past the teeth. To prevent the teeth of the wheel a from springing out of the rack D when the upper frame is being raised to working position, a halfbearing e is provided; kept in position by means of a spring f abutting upon abridge F. If this spring breaks, the projection upon the bearing e comes into contact with the bridge F and the wheel d remains in contact with the rack. The front board 0 is kept rigid in position by means of a projection which fits in a groove on the bracket supporting it.
