Fig. 8 shows one form in which a curved glass plate is mounted in a frame f pivoted at e to a clip a adapted to fit on the presser-bar. In place of the glass, the frame may be provided with one or more horizontal bars and may be hinged to the clip a at one side only. Stops g determine the normal position of the guard.
