Abstract

26,940. Howarth, J. Dec. 27. Pulleys and driving-drums, lubricating. A loose pulley is formed as or contains a chamber a, secured by a nut c and washer e to the boss b, which runs on a bush f. Lubricant in the chamber a finds its way to the bearing-surface through one or more conical holes b<3>. Paper or like washers d are used to make tight joints. The chamber a and boss b may be cast in one piece. In the Provisional Specification, it is stated that one side of the chamber may consist of a loose cap, and slots may be used instead of the holes b<3>.
