Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic.-In a means for securing elastic tyres to rims of car wheels, the tyre is moulded around one or more perforated securing-plates attached to the rim. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the perforated plate 6, plane, or sinuous as shown in Fig. 3, is secured, directly or through a ring 5, to the flanged rim 2. The tyre is further held by a side flange 8 secured by bolts 9. The outer edge of the plate 6, which may be formed with a flat tread 7, is adapted to be clear of the rail 1 except under excessive load.
