The sleeve A, of any suitable material, preferably waterproof, has wires B on its edges of greater diameter than that of the inner surface of the tyre. To put the cover on the tyre, one of the wires is forced through the open central space of the tyre, when it springs out to its proper size, the cover is folded around the tyre, and the second ring is forced through the first ring. Suitable apertures C may be provided for the valve of the air tube.
