Tyres,pneumatic &c.-A protective extra cover comprises a sheath 2 of rubber or the like, approximately semicircular in cross-section, with beads or edges 3<a>, of stiffer material than the tread, which grip the sides of the tyre when it is inflated and thus secure the cover in position. The edges 3<a> are reinforced with cores 3<b> of canvas or other fibrous material and by fabric 2<a> which lines the inner portion of the cover, and are curved so that a free air space 3<c> is left between the cover and the tyre.
