Abstract

Bobbins or spools upon which silk or cotton is wound for use in sewing- machines &c. are constructed at one end with a long tapered or bevelled part a to facilitate the drawing-off of the thread in the machine. The barrel b and the end or flange c are of ordinary construction. The end a<1> may be grooved or provided with a printed ticket to indicate, when the bobbin is full, that the thread should be drawn from this end thereof.
