Abstract

20,252. James, J. A., and Lambert, C. W. Sept. 20. Collars; neckties; shirts.-A combined collar and tie is formed by attaching strips of tie material c to the inner band a of turn-down or other collars, as shown. In addition to the usual buttonholes d, a button e and buttonhole f are provided near the ends of the collarband, as shown. The strips c can be tied together in a bow when the collar is fixed in position. The inner band a of the collar may be strengthened by quilting, or, as shown in Fig. 3, the band may be formed as a pocket, open along the edge a', to receive a stiffening-strip of celluloid. Tapes i are also provided on the outer band b through which the tiestrips c are passed to keep the ends of the outer band down upon the inner band. The collar may be formed in one with a shirt.
