Abstract
17,595. Conduits and Fittings, Ltd., Edwards, D. M., and Brown, E. A. Aug. 12. Conduits.-Bends, elbows, tees, and four-way and other fittings for conduits which are made in two pieces are constructed with the sockets divided unequally so that the lower part a contains the greater part of the fitting as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, and thus will not fall away from the conduit pipe on removing the upper part b. The socket part f of the fitting is enlarged so that, on screwing in the pipes, the inner bore presents no projections or ledges, and, if desired, this part need not be divided entirely but a bridge h may be left as in Fig. 10, and then the part between the sockets may be divided along the median line. To ensure good fitting, a ridge e is made on the upper part b to fit a corresponding groove d on the lower part a.
