Abstract

14,385. Pichery, L. L. Feb. 13, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Turbines. - The heat of a fluid under pressure is transformed into work by using it in an injector or ejector or a series of them for compressing or exhausting air, the fluid pressure or the vacuum being utilized in a motor. Live steam or the exhaust of steam or explosion engines may be the source of power. Fig. 1 shows diagrammatically an ejector in which steam enters at 2 and draws air in at 3 ; the mixture draws air in successively through the openings 5, 7. Fig 4 shows the exhaust from a motor 9 working an ejector e which exhausts the chamber 21 connected with a vacuum engine 22 through a turbine 40 which drives a fan 38. An apparatus for both compressing air and creating a vacuum, which are used simultaneously on opposite sides or the same piston, is described. The invention is an improvement on that described in Specification No. 11,990, A.D. 1904.
