Abstract

8330. Hansen, C. M., M³ller, C. V., and Carlsson, J. C. E. April 11. Loom shuttle-changing mechanism.-In electromagnetic weft-feeler mechanism for actuating shuttle-changing mechanism on substantial exbaustion of the weft in the shuttle, a feelerplate 17 is guided in movable flanges 25 mounted on the lug, and is acted upon by springs 20 which tend to draw the plate through a slot 18 in the front r of the shuttle-box and through a similar slot in the side of the shuttle. A pin on an angle-lever pivoted on the Jay normally catches a pin 16 on the plate 17, and holds the plate outside the shuttle box. At every second beat-up, the angle-lever is acted upon by a rod, lever, and cam, and the plate 17 is allowed to enter the shuttle box so that its edge presses against the weft in the shuttle. When the weft is nearly exhausted, two pins 23 on the feelers plate 17 touch insulated contact-plates S and complete an electric circuit, which actuates shuttle-changing mechanism as described in Specification No. 1152, A.D. 1903. The plates S are secured by screws to the front r of the shuttle box, and may be adjusted to suit different spools in the shuttle.
