Abstract

12,385. Hansen, C. M., Carlsson, J. C. B., and M³ller, C. V. June 14. Loom shuttle-changing mechanism.-Relates to a mechanical feeler connected to the lever h of mechanism described in Specification No. 11,456, A.D. 1904, for displacing this lever so that its hook i may be caught by the levers e that are lifted by the eccentric c on the lower axle b, thereby causing shuttle exchange. Hitherto the lever h has been displaced by an electric feeler closing an electric circuit as described in Specification No. 1152, A.D. 1903. At every second beat-up of the lay, a cam 94 presses down a lever 95 which carries the axis of rotation of a rod 70. This rod supports by a spring 76 a rod 73, provided with collars 74, 75, thus raising the rod 70 and a lever 77. The arm 78 of the latter has pins guided in slots 79 on the feeler-plate 80. The weft, when present, prevents the feeler-plate from projecting forwards and the arm 77 of the lever 77, 78, from rising more than a certain amount. The arm 77 then passes under a rod 83 carried by an arm 81 of a lever 81, 82. When the weft is exhausted, the arm 77 is allowed to rise farther, and rides over the rod 83, depressing the arm 81 against the action of a spring 87, so that a stud 89 is moved to the end of a slot 90 on a rod 91, against the action of a spring 92. The rod 91 is thus moved forward and actuates the rod h, so that shuttle-exchange occurs. The rod 83 is guided by a pin 85 and pressed forward by a spring 84.
