28,806. Bakeley, C., and Schrage, J. H. Dec. 31. Incandescent lamps, holders for, with switches. The base - piece 1 contains conducting- sleeves 2, 6, i n which the line terminals are fixed. The sleeve 6 is connected to the spring ring 8, arranged concentrically about the sleeve 2, which terminates in a screw 5. Thedetachable portion 9 of the holder is provided at one end with a ring 14, making connection with the ring 8, and a nut 15 which screws on to the screw 5, thus supporting the portion 9. The nut 15 is connected by the arm 16 and the fuse 27 to the plate 24, and thence, when the switch is on, by the spindle 31, bearing 28, plate 20, and screw 22, to the lamp contained in the collar 18. This collar is secured by conducting-screws 19, which pass up to the ring 14. When the switch is turned off, the stud 33 coacts with the cam notches 29 and moves the spindle 31 longitudinally, against the action of the spring 34, thus disconnecting the plate 24 from the spindle. A case 36, secured by screws 37, encloses the whole. The holder may be modified for use with a Thomson-Houston lamp.
