Abstract
28,068. Roberts, D. Dec. 21. Water-tube boilers.-In a water-tube boiler of the kind described in Specifications Nos. 5003, 26,686, and 26,687, A.D. 1902, the tubes d in the sections nearest the furnace are curved downwards over the furnace, and in such a manner, that the top headers e are situated in one plane, and the bottom headers f in another plane. The sections g furthest from the furnace, may be straight, as shown, or curved in the same way as the sections d. In the latter case, the upper headers hare placed between the steam drum and the headers e. Feedwater enters through the pipe l in the headers h, and the precipitated impurities pass into the bottom headers i, which are made deep to act as mud drums. The headers are connected to the drum j by nipples k as described in Specification No. 5003, A.D. 1902.
