Abstract
24,241. Shinkfield, H. J., and Phillips, J. F. Nov. 9. Milk cans, fastenings for. The hasp c, Fig. 4, is secured to the lid of a railway churn or can and the box is pressed on to the staple, so that the spring-pressed bolt h is pressed back and then returns and shoots into the hole in the staple. The end of the staple and that of the bolt are rounded, so that the bolt is easily pressed back. A key, Fig. 5, may enter the other side of the box f and be used to press back the lever i which carries the bolt h. In Fig. 7, the bolt h is shown carried in a frame k; it may be disengaged by depressing the piece l, and may be secured by a lock, if desired.
