Screw propellers.-The blades of screw propellers are feathered by an arrangement which allows the engines to be always driven at a uniform speed irrespective of the speed of the ship, and steering to be effected by means of the screw propellers without altering the engines. Fig. 1 shows a plan of the propeller described, and Fig. 3 shows an end sectional view. The levers C attached to the blades B are operated by means of pins f and cams e in the sliding plates E, which are attached to a collar F sliding on the propeller shaft.
