24,035. Allison, C. A., [Fawkes Rubber Co.]. Nov. 5. Tyres, pneumatic &c.-Creeping in solid rubber, elastic, or pneumatic tyres is prevented by forming in the inner periphery, recesses into which the cement applied to the rim collects, forming projections which hold the tyre in position. The recesses in elastic and pneumatic tyres are formed by projections on the mould in which the tyre is vulcanized. Figs. 2 and 3 show recesses 9 and corresponding protuberances in an elastic tyre having an inverted V-shaped core 6 which is provided with lateral strips 8<a>, the outer part consisting of a layer of canvas between two layers of india-rubber. The mould employed is described in Specification No. 24,036, A.D. 1903.
