Stoppers; stopper-keys.-A stopper B, Fig. 2, its flange 5 being internally threaded to engage the externally-threaded neck 3 of a bottle, is completely enveloped by a capsule C, which swivels on it. Slots 23 are provided in the outer cover 10 and partition 20 of the capsule, these being respectively at right-angles, as indicated in the outside plan, Fig. 4. A key of the kind shown in Fig. 7 passes through these slots, and, fitting over the pintle 19 in the cap of the stopper, engages studs 16, 17 by which the stopper may be screwed on or off the neck of the bottle. A modified form has springs 26, 27, Fig. 9, attached to the underside of the partition 20. These engage the studs 16, 17 when the capsule C is turned to screw the stopper on the threaded neck of the bottle, but sweep over them when the capsule is turned the other way, the key being required in this case to remove the stopper.
