Abstract
7788. Jeton, J. April 3. Window-closing apparatus for fanlights, casement windows, &c. As applied to a fanlight, the bar C is pivoted to the lug B on the transom A, and, when the fanlight is opened or shut, slides in the lug D fixed to the fanlight. The rod E, pivoted to a lug on the bar C, also passes through the lug D and carries the spring F between the two lugs. The spring H, mounted in the recess G in the lug D, presses the ball I against the row of recesses J on the bar C and retains the fanlight in any position. The slot K connects the top and bottom recesses J. When the fanlight is fully open, the ball enters the slot K, enabling the spring F to close the fanlight, which may thus be opened or closed by means of one cord. The spring F may be enclosed in two telescopic tubes.
