Abstract
190,297. Bernasconi, E. V. Oct. 13, 1921. Ash-trays.-An advertising device, which may stand on the floor or be placed on a table or counter or on the back of a theatre seat, comprises a hollow box-like body A having a gabled roof B, one or more projecting sides C, which may be detachable, and one or more drawers D for receiving tobacco ash &c. The drawer D has a pivoted trav d open at its inner end d<1> so that the contents drop into a box E when the drawer is moved. One or more automatic coin-freed delivery machines F may be combined with the device, and a pamphlet receptacle G may be added. One or more electric lamps H may be fitted, being lit by a main or by a battery contained in the body A. When the device is used on the back of a theatre seat, a switch and a lamp-shade J may be provided. One or more openings K located above a lamp may be furnished to cause a spot of light to be thrown on the ceiling to indicate the position of a seat, and these lamps may be operated from the end of a row of seats by an attendant.
