Dynamos, driving; field magnets.-Dynamos 2 for igniting in explosion engines have magnet cores of grey cast iron permanently magnetized in order that a sufficient current may be generated on starting the engine. The dynamo is pivoted at 1, and the pulley on its armature spindle leans against, and is driven by, the flywheel 3, which slips when an excessive sped is reached.
