Abstract
17,942. Allan, G. Aug. 15. Windows. - Windows with in- wardly - turning sashes have studs E', F' on the lower sash adapted, on raising the sash, to engage with the slotted flaps D<1> of the hinges D, shown in Figs. 6 and 6<a>, on the batten rod. Fig. 4 shows the window sash stile K formed separately from the sliding stile H, the two being attached by a thumb-screw I. When the window is to be turned inwards, the sliding stile is fixed by a thumb-screw at N. Or the batten rod may be hinged at J. The pulley cord, shown in Fig. 5, is made with a hook and eye 0 and a ring P, for placing on a pin P' to hold the cord when the window is to be turned inwards. The upper sash carries pintles B, B<1>, shown in Figs. 8 and 8<a>, which, on lowering the sash, fit into the sockets C, C<2> shown in Figs. 9, 9<a>, 9<b>, and 9<c>, so that the sash can be turned inwards.
