Abstract
11,731. Grin, C. May 23. Needle-threaders, -Consists of an improved magnetic needlethreader. The needle is supported with its eye opposite the threading - cone d on a block r, tbe position of which is adjustable by means of an eccentric s to suit different sizes of needle. A sloping groove in the top of the block r, in conjunction with the magnet a, holds the needle in the right place. Two thread - gripping fingers f, h normally lie with their ends opposite the threading-cone ready to receive the thread. The finger h is pivoted to the casing, and the finger f to a spring bolt e. On pushing up the bolt e, the fingers close on the thread, and then turn into the position shown, where a projection n on the bolt e engages the tail of the finger h and releases the thread. Slits x, y in the cones b, d allow of the release of the thread if already secured in the work.
