Abstract
8282. Weidenm³ller, F. April 9. Compasses, drawing.- These instruments are fitted with an auxiliary pair of points l, each of which is fixed to a slide i in a leg of the compass. By the simultaneous adjustment of these points, the distance between them can be made less than the distance between the fixed points k in a given ratio, to allow for shrinkage of paper &c. A vernier may be used. The points l may be fixed to frames which slide on the legs.
