Abstract
3119. Oelerich, F. Feb. 7. Incandescent vapour lamps.-The burner, which is provided with a starting-cup q, consists of an annular vaporizing-chamber c, to which the oil is supplied by the pipe b, and from which the vapour passes to the nozzle f. The mixture of air and vapour ascending the tube g is consumed partly at the burner head k and partly at the outlets l to which it descends. The flame at l heats both the vaporizing-fittings c, m and a superimposed cham ber w, through which air passes by the channels v, y to the exterior of the mantle r. The upper plate z of the chamber w forms an adjustable holder for the chimney or globe z, which is heated by the products of combustion ascending from the annular outlet p.
