Incandescent gas lamps, made in the form of candles d and provided with globes or chimneys i shaped to resemble an incandescent electric lamp, have the burner and burner fittings mounted either upon a gas-supply pipe f passi n g through the tube a or directly upon the tube a, which then serves as the mixing-tube of the burner, the air and gas supplies being heated by conduction from the flame. The air supplied through the inlets d may be varied, and the construction minimizes the risk of the burner lighting back, a longer tube a being used if preferred.
