23,339. Dobson & Barlow, and Rushton, T. H. Nov. 19. Winding-machines.-In quick-traverse winding- frames, the traversing thread-guide n is pressed lightly upon the bobbin during the winding operation, but, when the end breaks, it is turned upwards against the stationary rail g. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the guide is mounted loosely on the traverse rod o, and is connected thereto by a spring, and, when the thread breaks, the guide is moved upwards by a pivoted wire s, which is operated by the wire u carried by the spring slide l of the stop-motion. In a modification, the guide is mounted on a slide which can move longitudinally in guides carried by a pivoted rod, and engages in a notch in the upper edge of a flat traverse bar. When the thread breaks, a projection on the slide l rotates the pivoted rod, whereby the thread-guide is raised as before.
