Abstract

18,493. Prevost, L. Aug. 9, 1913, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Winding-machines; creel arrangements; stopmotions.-The threads are drawn, two or more at a time, from suspended spools in an overhead creel &c. 1 and passed through balanced guides 3 and over tension rods 5, 6 to a bobbin or spindle 7 which is pressed against a winding-drum 8 by a weighted lever 29. The thread is traversed on the bobbin by a traverse lever 24, which is operated at one end by means of a helical cam 22 and is provided with an adjustable pivot 25, so that the extent of the traverse can be adjusted for different-sized bobbins. The winding-drum is driven by a band 16 provided with a tension pulley 11 carried by a notched bar 12, which is released when the bobbin has attained the desired diameter and when a thread breaks, the bar being raised in the latter case by reason of the fall of the weighted guide 3 and the operation thereof by the oscillating bar 18.
