Abstract

6241. Koslowsky, I. March 25. Fireproof coverings and compositions.-Relates to means for protecting constructional ironwork against the effects of fire. The ironwork is first coated with a solution of borax, alum, sodium tungstate, and ammonium, magnesium, and ferrous sulphates in water, and a paste is then applied consisting of the above solution together with sodium silicate, asbestos, wood-ash, and chalk. A metallic fabric may be embedded in the protective coating.
