Abstract

Twisting-machines with twisting-arrangements at delivery; reeling-machines; rollers; tension arrangements; moistening; thread-guides.-Artificial silk is drawn from a spool 14 on a twisting- spindle 13 and is conveyed by a stream of washing liquid through a conduit 7 and wound upon a reel 34. The liquid is conveyed to the conduit through nozzles 4 from a pipe 2 to which is connected a pipe 16 terminating in an atomizing jet 17 by which the spool 14 is moistened. The' thread is drawn through a guide 23 and tensioning forks 24 by means of rollers 26, 27, which are mounted in pairs upon axles and are respectively ribbed and grooved as shown in Fig. 4, the rollers 27 having a greater circumferential speed than the rollers 26. A tensioning fork 30, Fig. 6, so balanced that it normally adopts a vertical position is mounted in bearing forks 31, 33 in front of the reel. The jet 17 comprises an eccentric shield which envelopes the tube 16 and is provided with a narrow bevelled-edged slit 19, Fig. 7. Superposed rows of twisting-devices may be arranged on one machine above a single row of reeling-devices.
