Distributing; regulating ; transformers; converting alternating and direct currents.-Relates to a system in which a number of alternating-current generators of a given number of phases in displaced phase relationship are connected to a synchronous dynamo electric machine of a different number of phases. The machines are thus maintained in their displaced phase relations. The system is particularly applicable for converting alternating currents into direct currents through the agency of a rotary converter. In the Figure, 7 and 8 are alternating- current generators connected through transformers to a quarter-phase rotary generator 3, a direct current being supplied to the mains 5 and 6.
