Fig. 2 shows one arrangement. The armature of the generator has a main winding A and a supplementary winding B which produces a second phase lagging behind the first. At C is a transformer for use with a polyphase motor, and at D the lighting circuit is obtained from the outer wires only. E, F, and G show other arrangements or combinations. Instead of having a supplementary winding on the generator, motor-generators having a supplementary winding may be arranged, where desired, on the circuit. Instead of having lamps and motors in the same circuit, the generator may have separate windings, one supplying lamps only and the other motors.
