10,818. Delaney, L. June 14. Flues, internal; tubes, water. - Behind an ordinary furnace flue B extending halfway through the boiler, or a pair of such flues, is an enlarged flue or chamber C', preferably with annular strengthening-ribs C<3>. This chamber is traversed by inclined water tubes D. A similar boiler, fired at each end, is also described, with a chamber such as C' in the middle, two sets of water tubes inclined in opposite directions being provided. The water tubes may be provided with nuts at each end, so that they serve as stays. A water tube A extends forwards through the furnace, but in the case of double furnace flues this may be dispensed with.
