Abstract
8890. Peard, R. B. May 14. Gas cooking, grilling, &c. stoves.-The grilling and boiling burners are formed from the same tube or casing, the gas being directed to either burner as required. The burner A consists of a double tube C, D, each having burner holes or nipples. It is attached to the casing H by lugs G and screws. On each side is a ledge E to support the fret. The gas supply tap J is provided with a swinging nozzle L having a gas exit hole M, and with a handle N. By turning the latter the orifice M is brought exactly opposite the centre of either the tube C or the tube D, as required, an indication on the plug showing the position of such orifice. The plug K attached to the handle may be constructed so that, except when the orifice M is exactly opposite one or other of the tubes, no gas shall pass. The same device may be applied to other parts of a gas stove employed for any purpose, and the burner casing may be divided into more than two tubes. The device is shown applied to an annular burner.
