Current-Collector Devices For Electrically Propelled Vehicles
(AREA)
Abstract
8347. Taylor, J., and Hudson, A. May 5. Electric railways and trammays with overhead with overhead conductors. Collectors. - The trolley wheel pivot C is mounted in lugs on a plate M, which swivels on rollers mounted in the base of the head E. Other rollers N on the plate bear under the cap G, which is hinged at S and is secured at U by a bolt carrying one of the first-mentioned rollers. A forked lug Z under the plate lies between springs b on a curved guide attached to the base E, so that the trolley wheel is kept in line with the trolley wire. The head has a split socket H clamped on the pole by the bolt J, and the conductor passing down the pole is attached to the head by the piece l and bolt m. The trolley wheel B has a graphite bushing W and a soft metal bearing for the wire secured by the hexagonal centre of the wheel, loose flange B<2>, and lock-nut Y.
